Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer's hard drive by your web browser when you visit any website. They allow information gathered on one web page to be stored until it is needed for use on another, allowing a website to provide you with a personalised experience and the website owner with usage statistics.
In this web application we use cookies for two purposes:
- To hold a session ID after you have signed in, until you log out or close your browser. This allows us to determine which requests/submissions are from you, and not other users.
- A record of the username used in the last successful log in, which allows us to prompt you with the same username next time.
Our cookies remain in your browser just long enough to fulfil their purpose, and cannot be used to track your activity outside of this application.
